Solutions & Automation Delivery Manager
What is our mission?:
Orbital is on an exciting mission to revolutionise global cross-border payments by innovatively combining traditional fiat banking rails with stablecoins over blockchain rails for a variety of use cases. Our class leading B2B payments platform offers multi-currency e-money accounts (corporate IBANs) combined with a suite of digital assets services. Our company sits at the frontier of payments & fintech, by intersecting blockchain and traditional (fiat) financial services, and is leading the way to bridging those two worlds for corporate enterprises globally.
We believe blockchain technology is firmly here to stay, and we want to be the first to bring a combined offering of fiat & crypto payment services under one exciting platform. Learn more about our team and company story here.
What is the purpose of this role in the delivery of our mission?
The Solutions & Automation Delivery Manager sits at the intersection of operations, engineering, and client-facing products. This is a hands-on builder role for someone equally comfortable shaping a client solution, prototyping it in code, joining in on a delivery stand-up, and writing the documentation that makes the whole thing land.
The role spans two complementary surfaces: client-facing product solutions and internal tools and process automation. The thread connecting both is the same - take a real business need, shape it into something concrete (often by building a first working version yourself to prove it out), and drive it through to delivery.
What are the key responsibilities / activities of the role?
Client-Facing Solutions
Take early-stage product ideas - driven by client demand, market opportunity, or executive direction - and turn them into working prototypes using AI-assisted development tools and modern vibe-coding workflows.
Hand off payment & FX-related business logic to Payment Operations to coordinate technical delivery with payments engineering, channels, and API teams.
Own client-facing and internal documentation for each product, ensuring it is accurate, accessible, and reusable.
Drive rollout plans from soft launch through to general availability, including go-to-market coordination with relevant teams.
Internal Tools & Process Automation
Build end-to-end internal tools that automate process flows and improve record-keeping across the business, using the same AI-assisted toolchain.
Design tools and data models thoughtfully - understanding the difference between canonical, reference, and local operational data, and how systems interoperate.
Identify opportunities to scale operations without necessarily increasing headcount - spotting friction in existing workflows and proposing automated solutions.
Delivery & Project Management
Project-manage builds from prototype to production end-to-end - setting timelines, tracking progress, and unblocking dependencies.
Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, and other relevant teams.
Translate between technical and operational stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding of scope, design, and trade-offs.
Manage handovers cleanly - from prototype to engineering, from build to operations, from launch to BAU support.
Anticipate operational and technical issues, and resolve them pragmatically when they surface.
Documentation & Knowledge
Produce clear, concise documentation for products, tools, and processes - both internal-facing (for the teams running them) and client-facing where applicable.
Treat documentation as a deliverable, not an afterthought - it’s how knowledge compounds across the business.
Contribute to the ongoing development of our internal back-office systems suite and shared knowledge systems.
Independence & Ownership
Operate with significant independence - given context, problems, and outcomes, you identify the work, scope it, and deliver.
Bring proposals to the table rather than waiting for instructions - spot the gap, build the thing, and bring it forward for review.
What is the scope of accountability for the role?
Client-facing payment & FX product solutions: prototyping and delivery
Internal tools and process automation across the business
Documentation for payment & FX products, tools, and processes
Cross-functional delivery coordination from prototype to production
What are the essential skills, qualifications and experience required for the role?
Demonstrable fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Replit, Claude, or equivalent). This is the core muscle of the role; comfort here is not optional.
Cross-functional understanding of both the technical side (APIs, integrations, system design) and the operational side (workflows, process design, how teams deliver) of getting things shipped.
A working grasp of data architecture - understanding the difference between canonical, reference, and local operational data; why stable IDs matter; when to link rather than copy; how to think about schema design when systems need to talk to each other. You don’t need to be a data engineer, but these instincts must be live whenever you’re designing tools or product data models.
Strong project management skills - able to drive delivery from prototype to production across multiple teams independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication. Documentation is a core deliverable, and you’ll be translating across technical and non-technical audiences daily.
High autonomy and a builder’s instinct - fast-moving, comfortable operating from limited instructions, and motivated to grow into a wider remit over time.
What are the desirable skills, qualifications and experience that would be beneficial for the role?
Experience in payments, FX, fintech, crypto, or financial services.
Prior experience shipping internal tools, automations, or workflow systems end-to-end.
Background in scale-up environments where the role spans multiple disciplines.
Familiarity with API-led product delivery, system integrations, or modern SaaS architecture.
A track record of building things in your own time - side projects, automations, prototypes - that demonstrate the builder’s instinct in action.
