Senior Compliance QA Analyst
As a Senior QA Analyst, you will play a vital role in strengthening our compliance framework by providing objective oversight and testing of key business processes.
What is our mission?
Orbital is on an exciting mission to revolutionise global cross-border payments by innovatively combining traditional fiat banking rails with stablecoins over blockchain rails for a variety of use cases. Our class leading B2B payments platform offers multi-currency e-money accounts (corporate IBANs) combined with a suite of digital assets services. Our company sits at the frontier of payments & fintech, by intersecting blockchain and traditional (fiat) financial services, and is leading the way to bridging those two worlds for corporate enterprises globally.
We believe blockchain technology is firmly here to stay, and we want to be the first to bring a combined offering of fiat & crypto payment services under one exciting platform. Learn more about our team and company story here.
What is the purpose of this role in the delivery of our mission?
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Compliance Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Second Line of Defence (2LoD) Compliance team. This is a crucial role responsible for independently assessing the effectiveness of our First Line of Defence (1LoD) controls and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
As a Senior QA Analyst, you will play a vital role in strengthening our compliance framework by providing objective oversight and testing of key business processes. You will work closely with the business to identify control weaknesses and drive improvements, ultimately helping to protect the firm from financial crime and regulatory risk.
What are the key responsibilities of the role:
Independent testing & monitoring: Develop, execute, and document independent quality assurance reviews of 1LoD compliance controls and processes. This includes transaction monitoring, client due diligence (CDD), sanctions screening, and other high-risk areas.
Methodology & scoping: Assist in the design and refinement of the QA testing methodology. Create detailed test scripts and sampling plans based on risk assessments, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Issue identification & reporting: Identify control deficiencies, policy breaches, and procedural gaps. Clearly articulate findings and their associated risks in well-structured and concise reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Remediation & follow-up: Collaborate with 1LoD business units and operational teams to track the timely and effective remediation of identified issues. Conduct follow-up reviews to ensure that corrective actions have been implemented and are sustainable.
Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships with 1LoD teams, other 2LoD functions and Internal Audit. Act as a trusted partner and subject matter expert on control effectiveness and best practices.
Regulatory & policy expertise: Maintain a deep and current understanding of relevant anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), sanctions, and other financial crime regulations. Assess whether 1LoD controls are aligned with these external requirements and internal policies.
Data analysis & metrics: Utilise data analytics to identify trends, patterns, and areas of elevated risk. Contribute to the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) for the QA function.
Training & mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior members of the QA team, and contribute to training materials to enhance the understanding of compliance controls across the firm.
