What is the purpose of this role in the delivery of our mission?
The Risk Associate will play a key role in safeguarding our mission to deliver secure and reliable stablecoin payment infrastructure. By supporting risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, this role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, minimizes operational risks, and enhances trust, enabling our business to innovate while maintaining the highest levels of security and resilience.
What are the key responsibilities / activities of the role:
Assist in identifying emerging risks across operational, regulatory, financial, and technological areas.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly Risk Maps.
Conduct initial risk assessments to identify operational, financial, regulatory, and technological risks.
Support the development and maintenance of the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Assessment diagnostic tool.
Perform due diligence on correspondent banking partners, liquidity providers, outsourcing partners, and agents.
Collaborate on the implementation and maintenance of risk acceptance criteria and frameworks.
Prepare documentation and reports, including Risk Assessment Reports (RAR) for regulators.
Assist in drafting the annual Risk Management Report (RMR).
Liaise with business units to ensure alignment with the risk management framework.
Identify and escalate deficiencies in the risk management process to the Head of Risk.
Ensure internal risk policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
Analyze data to provide actionable insights for mitigating risks proactively.
Collaborate with compliance and other specialized functions on shared risk-related responsibilities.
Maintain thorough and accurate records of all risk-related activities and assessments.
What is the scope of accountability for the role:
Implementation and maintenance of risk management framework.
Conducting due diligence on third party partners and vendors.
Preparation and contribution to risk reports.
Alignment and upkeep of internal risk policies and procedures.
What are the essential skills, qualifications and experience required for the role?
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related function within fintech, payments, or financial services.
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and liaising with stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and handle sensitive information with discretion.
What are the desirable skills, qualifications and experience that would be beneficial for the role?
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Compliance or Law.
Experience within the fintech, blockchain, or digital payments industry.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly in compliance or operations.
Exposure to or experience in conducting third-party/vendor risk assessments.
Strong understanding of risk concepts.
